The Christian faith is more than just a set of beliefs or rules - it's a relationship with a Person who invites us into His family. It's a journey from time into eternity, where we'll dwell with Him forever. But to navigate this journey, we need an external force and help to succeed.
What is Power? Power is often defined as the ability to do work, but in the context of Scripture, it can also refer to a Force or a Person. In Acts 1:8, the Holy Spirit is described as a Power that comes upon us, enabling us to be witnesses for Christ.
Who gives Power? Power can come from three sources: God, the devil, or man. However, as Christians, we know that true power comes from God through Jesus Christ. We administer this power, but it's not our own ability - it's a gift from our Lord.
Why Do We Need Power?
We need power for various reasons:
- To witness Christ boldly and authentically
- For deliverance from sin, sickness, evil thoughts, curses, and death
- To accomplish the impossible and demonstrate God's power
- For our Christian journey, to walk faithfully and discern between good and evil
- For strength, understanding, wisdom, worship, obedience, and perseverance in persecution
How Do We Get This Power?
We access this power by becoming Christians through:
- Hearing and believing the Gospel of Jesus Christ
- Repenting and accepting His sacrifice for our sins
- Being baptized and receiving the Holy Spirit
- Praying sincerely for God to manifest His power in our lives
Remember, the Holy Spirit is our Power, and God regulates its manifestation in our lives. Let's seek to understand and rely on this power to live a victorious Christian life.
To the glory of God,He has given us access to ask Him anything which is in accordance to His will and we know that His will for us is also to walk in power
